A new kind of nursery?
Imagine a place that was surrounded by unspoiled California hills. A canopy of trees shades the ground. Pathways wind through a Botanic garden with specimen plants in a variety of settings. A meandering stream quenches the arid land and the fragrance of herbs and sweet flowers rises up to greet you as butterflies & hummingbirds drink sweet nectar. Sit on a shady bench and listen to the songbirds call to each other. The peaceful beauty of nature is all around. A sand path wanders through groups of potted plants. Yes the same plants in pots ready to recreate the very gardens enjoying or a new garden that your mind's eye has created.
Liz and Joe Grumbine began this project in 1996. A barren piece of land with nothing but potential. They chose this place to begin their lives together with a garden wedding in 97 and have been building, growing and tending since. The gardens became the best kept secret in the Elsinore valley and by popular demand began hosting weddings and events. This proved to be more trouble than it was worth although many happy brides shared their first moments of bliss.
The next few years were spent building the nursery & labeling the plants & trees in the gardens. Joe began collecting and propagating herbs and perennials that are hardy enough to thrive in a harsh environment while Liz worked on her formulas for natural skin care products. October 07 was our grand opening featuring over 120 varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials and ground covers as well as vines cacti and succulents. A new line of health & beauty products (always 100% organic) was available as well as Liz's homemade lavender and pomegranate syrups and seasonal jellies.
